Terms for Purchase and Use of Commuter Cards, Youth Cards, Øresund Cards, Pendler20, and 1-Zone Add-ons

1. Commuter Card 

1.1 Validity 

A Commuter Card is personal. 

It allows unlimited travel within specific zones for a period of 30–60 days. 

You must be logged in with a DSB profile to purchase a Commuter Card. Name and age are retrieved from the profile. Profiles cannot be created for individuals under 12 years old. 

When traveling with your Commuter Card, you must present ID showing your full name upon request (health card, student ID, driver’s license, or passport). 

You can also purchase a Commuter Card for DSB 1’. The additional price depends on whether you travel by InterCity or regional trains.  Read more about services on DSB 1. For InterCity travel, you can find the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration’s smiley reports here. 

1.1.1 Metro Add-on for Commuter Card 

If you want your Commuter Card to be valid in the metro, you must pay an additional metro fee. If you choose this option, your Commuter Card will be valid for buses, trains, and the metro. 

1.1.2 1-Zone Add-on or Metro Add-on Ticket 

A 1-Zone Add-on Ticket extends the validity of your Commuter Card by one zone. 

It also grants metro access for Commuter Cards valid in zones 1–4 where the metro add-on has not been selected, as well as in the additional zone covered by the add-on ticket. 

The ticket must be purchased before the card’s validity expires and before starting your journey in the extra zone or boarding the metro. 

You can travel unlimited within the validity period of 1 hour and 15 minutes. 

Add-on tickets are non-refundable. 

1.2 Transferring a Commuter Card 

You can log in with your DSB profile on a new device and transfer your Commuter Card up to five times within the validity period. 

1.3 Refunds 

If you request a refund, an amount equivalent to the value of eight days will be deducted from the unused validity period. 

A full refund is available until the first day of validity. 

2. Youth Card 

A Youth Card is personal. 

If you are aged 16–19 or enrolled in an SU-approved youth or higher education program, you can apply for a Youth Card at www.mitungdomskort.dk. 

You must have a DSB profile to access your Youth Card. The email address used for ordering the Youth Card must match the one in your DSB Plus profile. 

When traveling with your Youth Card, you must present ID showing your full name upon request (health card, student ID, driver’s license, or passport). 

2.1 Transferring a Youth Card 

You can log in with your DSB profile on a new device and transfer your Youth Card up to five times within the validity period. 

3. Øresund Card

3.1 Validity 

An Øresund Card is personal. 

It allows unlimited travel between the Copenhagen area (Zones 1–99) and southern Sweden (Skåne County) for 30–60 days. 

You must be logged in with a DSB profile to purchase an Øresund Card. Name and age are retrieved from the profile. Profiles cannot be created for individuals under 12 years old. 

When traveling with your Øresund Card, you must present ID showing your full name upon request (health card, student ID, driver’s license, or passport). 

You can also purchase an Øresund Card for DSB 1’. The additional price depends on whether you travel by InterCity or regional trains. 

3.1.1 Metro Add-on for Øresund Card 

If you want your Øresund Card to be valid in the metro, you must pay an additional metro fee. If you choose this option, your Øresund Card will be valid for buses, trains, and the metro. 

3.1.2 1-Zone Add-on or Metro Add-on Ticket 

A 1-Zone Add-on Ticket extends the validity of your Øresund Card by one zone. 

It also grants metro access for Øresund Cards valid in zones 1–4 where the metro add-on has not been selected, as well as in the additional zone covered by the add-on ticket. 

The ticket must be purchased before the card’s validity expires and before starting your journey in the extra zone or boarding the metro. 

You can travel unlimited within the validity period of 1 hour and 15 minutes.

3.2 Transferring an Øresund Card 

You can log in with your DSB Plus profile on a new device and transfer your Øresund Card up to five times within the validity period. 

3.3 Refunds 

An amount equivalent to the value of eight days will be deducted from the unused validity period for refunds. 

A full refund is available until the first day of validity. 

4. Pendler20

4.1 Validity 

A Pendler20 Card is personal. 

It provides access to 20 travel days within a 60-day validity period. 

On an activated travel day, you can travel unlimited within the specific zones covered by your Pendler20 Card during the ticket day (from 04:00 to 03:59 the next day). 

Travel days must be activated before boarding. Activation is done via the DSB app. 

You must be logged in with a DSB Plus profile to purchase a Pendler20 Card. Name and age are retrieved from the profile. 

When traveling with your Pendler20 Card, you must present ID showing your full name upon request (health card, student ID, driver’s license, or passport). 

You can also purchase Pendler20 for DSB 1’. The additional price depends on whether you travel by InterCity or regional trains. 

4.1.1 Metro Add-on for Pendler20 

If you want your Pendler20 Card to be valid in the metro, you must pay an additional metro fee. If you choose this option, your Pendler20 Card will be valid for buses, trains, and the metro on activated travel days. 

4.1.2 1-Zone Add-on or Metro Add-on Ticket 

A 1-Zone Add-on Ticket extends the validity of your Pendler20 Card by one zone. 

It also grants metro access for Pendler20 Cards valid in zones 1–4 where the metro add-on has not been selected, as well as in the additional zone covered by the add-on ticket. 

The ticket must be purchased before the card’s validity expires and before starting your journey in the extra zone or boarding the metro. 

You can travel unlimited within the validity period of 1 hour and 15 minutes. 

Add-on tickets are non-refundable. 

4.2 Refunds 

Refunds apply only to the entire Pendler20 Card, not individual travel days. 

A full refund is available until the first day of the 60-day validity period. 

After the first day of validity, an amount equivalent to the value of five travel days will be deducted from the remaining unused travel days. 

Refunds are only possible within the 60-day validity period. No refunds are available after the validity period ends. 

4.3 Services 

Pendler20 is not covered by the Commuter Travel Time Guarantee, but you can apply for the Basic Travel Time Guarantee if delayed by more than 30 minutes. 

Pendler20 is covered by the DSB Plus Forgotten Card Service for activated travel days, provided you have a DSB Plus profile. 

You can purchase a Commuter Seat Reservation on activated travel days if traveling on a train with reserved seating. 

If your phone requires repair, you can log in on a new device to retrieve your Pendler20 Card. Transfers are limited to five times within the 60-day period. 

5. DSB 1’ Commuter Add-on

5.1 Validity 

A DSB 1’ Commuter Add-on is personal. 

It can be purchased if you already have a commuter card, youth card, or Øresund card and wish to travel on DSB 1’. The additional price depends on whether you travel by InterCity or regional trains. 

You must be logged in with a DSB profile to purchase the add-on. Name and age must match the details on your commuter card. 

5.2 Refunds 

An amount equivalent to the value of eight days will be deducted from the unused validity period for refunds. 

A full refund is available until the first day of validity. 

6. Special Services for Commuter Card Holders

6.1 Commuter Seat Reservation 

You can purchase a Commuter Seat Reservation if traveling on a train with reserved seating. 

6.2 DSB Forgotten Card Service 

With the Forgotten Card Service, you can avoid a penalty fee if you forget your phone or run out of battery. You must have a DSB Plus profile and ensure your profile is updated with the correct card number. 

7. DSB Commuter Travel Time Guarantee

You can sign up for the Commuter Travel Time Guarantee to receive automatic compensation for delays on your commuter route. Ensure your profile is updated with the correct card number. You can register in the app after purchasing a commuter card, where a link will be available on the card itself.
