General terms for profiles at DSB and Plus benefits

By creating and using a profile you accept these terms.
1. About profiles
Profile:
By creating a profile at DSB, you gain access to features that make traveling with DSB easier. With your profile, you can log in to DSB’s app and dsb.dk to purchase or view tickets and travel cards. You also gain access to purchasing Commuter Cards, traveling with Check in, and parking at selected stations.
You must be at least 12 years old to create a profile.
Family:
With your profile, you can create a Family, which allows you to link multiple profiles. To create and manage a Family, you must be at least 18 years old, and all Family members must have their own profile. Read more about Family.
Plus:
By signing up for Plus, you gain access to benefits, including discounts with our partners on experiences, entertainment, and refreshments for your journey. You can view current benefits at dsb.dk/dsb-plus. To access Plus, you must consent to receiving news and special offers from DSB.
You must be at least 15 years old to access Plus.
Points:
If you are part of Plus, you can earn points when purchasing tickets and travel cards via DSB’s app and dsb.dk. To earn points, you must accept the points terms. Read the point terms.
It is free to create a profile or sign up for Plus and Points. You can delete your profile or unsubscribe from Plus and Points at any time.
To create a profile, you need an email address and a mobile phone number. Please note that mobile numbers from certain countries cannot be used to create a profile.
When we send you emails, they will always come from the following addresses: dsb@mail.dsb.dk, dsb@info.dsb.dk, or dsb@service.dsb.dk. If you are unsure whether an email is from us, you can check if it was sent from one of these addresses.
2. Your profile
You log into your profile in the DSB app or on dsb.dk using your email address and a password of your choice.
In your profile, you can, among other things, view and update your personal information and customize how you wish to receive news and special offers.
You also have access to your purchased tickets and travel cards on the channel where they were bought. In addition, you can get an overview of your points, including when they were earned and used, as well as how many points you currently have available.
You are responsible for ensuring that your password is not disclosed to unauthorized persons.
3. Liablity
Information about benefits on Plus is provided without any express or implied guarantee as to its accuracy or completeness. Furthermore, DSB reserves the right to change the content of Plus at any time without prior notice.
If links are provided to other websites or apps, this is done without DSB assuming any responsibility for the content of the linked site or app.
DSB is not liable for any damage or loss that may arise from the use of profile or Plus, including use of services or benefits with external partners.
4. Misuse
If DSB becomes aware that you are misusing your profile or not complying with these terms, DSB reserves the right to close your profile and exclude you from future use. In cases of specific suspicion of misuse, your information may be used in investigations of possible irregularities. The purpose is to prevent and detect irregularities.
5. Personal Data
When you create a profile, you accept that we may process your personal data. You can read more about our processing of your personal data and your rights below.
Profile Information:
We process your profile information to administer your membership, give you access to benefits, and communicate with you about your membership.
When creating a profile, we process at minimum the following information about you:
- The details you provide when you create or update a profile, including name, date of birth, email, and phone number. If you have entered an address, we process that as well. An internal membership ID is also generated.
- The name and date of birth from your profile are used when purchasing a Commuter Card and using Check-in with DSB's app.. Your date of birth determines your customer type, e.g., child, youth, adult, or senior.
- Terms, conditions, and consents you have accepted, including version and date.
When you use services, we may process the following additional information about you. Which information we process depends on the services you use. The information is necessary to deliver the individual services.
- Check-in: The date of acceptance of the Check-in terms in the DSB app, and the Check-out method (reminder or automatic).
- Family: Family name and relationship to other linked profiles. An internal Family ID is generated.
- User panel: Profile, purchase, and behavioural data are used to ensure you receive invitations to relevant surveys.
- Forgotten Card: Card number on Commuter Card and CPR number.
- Locked bicycle parking: Usage information.
- Car parking at selected stations: Usage information and vehicle registration number.
- Link to company with a corporate agreement with DSB Business: Company information.
- Service messages: DSB may send you service messages with significant changes to terms or your journeys. Service messages may also concern international tickets and Youth Cards. We process information about sent emails and SMS messages, email openings, the device used, and bounces.
When you sign up for Plus, we may process the following information about you. The information is necessary to deliver the individual benefits. The purpose is statistics and to target our communication with you - thus ensuring you receive relevant offers.
- Benefits in the DSB app: Activated benefit and activation date.
- Communication from DSB, as described below.
Upon acceptance of the Points Terms, we may process the following information about you that is necessary to deliver the points program. The purpose is statistics and to target our communication with you - thus ensuring you receive relevant offers.
- Earning and using points, including pending points, point expiration, and how and where points are redeemed.
The legal basis for processing profile information and services as well as points is Article 6(1)(b) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The legal basis for processing information covered by your consent in Plus is Article(1)(a) of the GDPR.
Communication from DSB:
If you are a part of Plus and receive communication from DSB via email or SMS with news and special offers, we process additional information.
The purpose is to gather statistics and tailor our communication to you, ensuring you receive relevant offers.
- Sent emails and SMS messages, email openings, unsubscribes, the device used, bounces, link clicks, location preferences, browser usage, participation in competitions, responses to surveys (including satisfaction surveys, unless stated that responses are anonymous), and replies to emails from DSB.
Your email address and phone number may be shared in hashed (pseudonymized) form with DSB’s advertising partners to ensure you see relevant ads on social media and external websites. Your email address will not be stored by the advertising partner if you do not have a profile with them.
On your profile, you can opt out of one or more of our contact methods. For example, if you do not wish to receive emails or see relevant ads on social media and external websites, you can opt out.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR and (e) regarding statistics.
Ticket Purchases:
If you purchase tickets on dsb.dk or in DSB’s app while logged into your profile, we process information about your purchased tickets.
The purpose is to provide you with a platform where you can retrieve your purchased tickets and send you relevant traffic information. If you subscribe to Plus, the purpose is also to send you targeted offers.
For these purposes, we process the following information about you:
- Tickets and travel cards, including date, validity, zones, Commuter Card number, customer type, price, earned points, and payment method.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR and (a) regarding information covered by Plus.
Use of DSB’s App:
When you use DSB’s app, we process information about your login and logout activities, your status in the registration flow, your operating system, and an unique number linked to the app version during installation.
The purpose is to troubleshoot and optimize the app, allow you to complete the registration flow if you did not finish it initially, and tailor our communication if you are subscribed to Plus.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(e) and (a) of the GDPR regarding information covered by Plus.
When logging into DSB’s app, you accept that a number of cookies are temporarily placed during login. These are strictly necessary technical cookies, and we use as few cookies as possible. You can see which cookies apply here.
Use of DSB.dk:
When using dsb.dk, we process information about your status in the registration flow. While browsing dsb.dk, our cookie policy applies alongside these terms.
This information is necessary to allow you to complete the registration flow if you did not finish it initially.
- The legal basis is Section 6, Article 1(e) of the GDPR.
Storage, Opt-Out, and Deletion:
We store your information as long as you have a profile. If you delete your profile, you will no longer receive communication from us, and we will stop processing your information for marketing purposes. Your information will be deleted no later than 30 days after you delete your profile. If you have accepted the points terms, your data will however be deleted no later than six months afterwards due to accounting requirements.
Information about tickets purchased on dsb.dk will be removed from your profile three years after the ticket expires. For purchases in DSB’s app, tickets will be removed from your profile after five years.
According to the Danish Bookkeeping Act, information about tickets is stored for the current year plus five years.
Information about your interaction with newsletters is deleted three years after the newsletter is sent.
If you unsubscribe from a service on your profile, the information you provided to sign up for the service will be deleted no later than three years after unsubscribing.
Statistics:
As long as you have a profile, we also use your information for internal statistics, in accordance with Article 6(1)(e) of the GDPR. The purpose is to develop and improve our products and services.
Privacy Policy:
Information collected and processed by DSB is handled both by DSB and DSB’s data processors.

6. Changes to Terms
DSB may change these terms, including prices, fees, and services, at any time in the following situations. The current applicablecan always be found on dsb.dk:
- Changes in legislation or practices.
- Increased costs for our services, including costs for administration, distribution, and staff.
- Significant changes in the services, benefits, and advantages offered by DSB and DSB’s partners, including how profile and Plus are used.
If the changes are disadvantageous to you, you will be notified at least one month before they take effect. You will be informed of the changes and the content of the new terms via email.
If you do not wish to be subject to the new terms, you will have the option to close your profile or withdraw your acceptance of Plus within one month of the notification. If we do not hear from you, we will consider it as your acceptance of the changes.
Changes that are not disadvantageous to you may be made without notice by publishing them on dsb.dk.
