Plan ahead and buy Seat Reservations early
On busy departures between the regions, seats are in great demand, so plan ahead and make your reservations early. You can make seat reservations as early as two months before departure.
If the departure is sold out, you can try again closer to departure as some seats may have been released if you are lucky. .
Commuters can buy a seat reservation for DKK 10
If you have a Commuter Card, Rejsekort with commuter pass or a Youth Card, you can buy a Commuter Seat Reservation for DKK 10.

Buy your Seat Reservation in the DSB's app
You can buy your Seat Reservation in the DSB's app. That way, you have it handy when you need to present it on the train. Download DSB's app where you usually find your apps.
Avoid paying a fee if you need to cancel your Seat Reservation
If you have bought your Seat Reservation in the DSB's app or at dsb.dk, you can get a refund at no additional fee until the day before departure. That way, you do not have to pay a handling fee of DKK 40.
Space for your dog
If you want to make sure that there is space for your dog on the train, you can buy a space for it. If you travel on a train where the seats face each other, you must reserve the seat opposite your own.

Yes. If you have bought your Seat Reservation in a ticket machine or in 7-Eleven at the station, you can get a refund on your Seat Reservation until the day before departure. A handling fee of DKK 40 will be charged.
If you want a refund on a Seat Reservation bought in the DSB's app or at dsb.dk, you can do so at no additional fee until the day before departure in the DSB's app or on dsb.dk.
You cannot get a refund on a Seat Reservation on the day of departure. You can change your Seat Reservation to another day for the same route. If you want the Seat Reservation to be valid for another route, a fee of DKK 40 will be charged. The change must be made before the train departs from the boarding station. On the day of departure, you can only change the Seat Reservation to a departure on the same day.
Please note that if special situations arise on your journey, you cannot expect to get the seat you have reserved. If, for the selected departure, the train capacity has been reduced and the carriage with your reserved seat does not exist, the train staff can help you find another vacant seat. If it is not possible to find another seat for you, your Seat Reservation will obviously be refunded.

Yes, you can always buy a Seat Reservation for your Orange or Orange Fri ticket when you travel by InterCity or InterCityLyn. If you travel by regional train, you cannot be sure to get Seat Reservation, but you can check in the DSB's app.
Seat Reservations bought together with Orange tickets cannot be changed or refunded Seat Reservations bought together with Orange Fri can be refunded. If you buy your Orange tickets and Seat Reservations separately, the Seat Reservations are refundable.

Yes, if you travel to or from Bornholm, an admission ticket to the ferry is required for all departures. You get an admission ticket by making a Seat Reservation. Children must always have their own Seat Reservation. Please note that you are not guaranteed a seat on Øresundstog and Pågatåg.
You cannot make reservations for bicycles, baby carriages and wheelchairs on Øresundstog and Pågatåg, so you cannot be 100% sure to get such items onboard on all departures. Therefore, it is a good idea to leave in good time before your ferry departure if you are bringing a bicycle, baby carriage or wheelchair.

When you buy your ticket online, a Standard Seat will be displayed. If you would like another seat on the train, you can press 'Vælg andre pladser' (Select other seats) and you will get a plan of all seats on the train and you can select the one(s) you want.
