Ticket Conditions for International Tickets

Edition 1.0 valid from February 1. 2026

Standard Tickets/Full Flex

  • Europa FlexFlexpreis, and Normal Price are terms for a standard ticket without a discount. You can purchase standard tickets to various countries and cities in Europe.
  • When searching for a connection in the DSB’s Webshop for International Tickets, the normal price is often displayed in the "Full Flex" field.
  • The ticket can be refunded without a fee until the day before departure if purchased through the DSB Kundecenter Udland at +45 70 13 14 18 or at DSB Sales & Service.
  • For journeys involving Germany, the ticket price depends on the type of train used for the journey:
    • Tickets issued for ICE trains can be used for travel in ICE, EC, IC, and regional trains. Tickets issued for EC/IC trains can be used in EuroCity and InterCity trains, as well as regional trains. Tickets issued without ICE, EC, or IC markings can only be used in regional trains.
    • If a train of a different type than the one specified on the ticket is used, a surcharge must be paid on the train.

DSB Orange Europa/Non Flex

Sold for 1st and 2nd class to Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Austria.

For tickets between Denmark and Germany, the name DSB Orange Europa is used. For tickets between Germany and the other countries, the name Sparpreis Europa is used, as this is the term used in those countries.

For journeys involving the countries mentioned, DSB Orange Europa tickets are not specifically searched for. However, when searching for a connection in the Webshop, the DSB Orange Europa ticket is often displayed in the "Non Flex" field as the cheapest offer.

The ticket is valid for a specific travel date and specific departures. The date and train numbers are indicated on the ticket in the "via" field. If seat reservations are desired for the specified trains, the applicable seat reservation fees will be charged.

    • An adult can bring up to four children under the age of 15 free of charge.
    • Children traveling alone or with other adults pay approximately half the price of an adult ticket.
    • Seat reservations and surcharges must always be paid for children who wish to reserve a seat.
    • There is a limited number of tickets per departure, and the price varies depending on the booking day, travel day, and departure time.
    • The ticket and seat reservation are only valid for the purchased connection.
    • Tickets and seat reservations cannot be changed, exchanged, or refunded.
    • A ticket can be issued for a maximum of 5 people

Seat Reservations

A seat reservation is valid only for the selected date, departure time, carriage, and seat. The reserved seat must be taken immediately upon boarding, otherwise it may be allocated to other passengers.

A seat reservation only entitles you to a seat on the train and is valid only together with a valid travel ticket. You must therefore hold a ticket for the journey, purchased either separately or together with the seat reservation.

As a rule, passengers who book seat reservations together are allocated seats close to each other. On heavily booked services, we may not be able to offer seats together.

Seat reservations are not available on all trains. For example, it is not possible to purchase seat reservations for regional trains or for local trains in the Netherlands and Belgium.

Night Trains, Sleeping Cars, Couchettes, Reclining Seats, or Regular Seats

In the DSB Webshop for international tickets it is possible to purchase tickets for night trains if you wish to travel in a sleeping car, couchettes car, reclining car, or seated car.
